Go Scuba Diving in Ko Tao, Surat Thani, Thailand

If you are a scuba diver, you must have heard of Ko Tao, one of the most popular diving spots in the world. Aside from a wide selection of diving spots, Ko Tao also known as Koh Tao and Turtle Island, is a place where you can enjoy a number of water activities including snorkeling, swimming, sailing, wakeboarding, kayaking, island cruises, and underwater videography.

Ko Tao is part of Surat Thani Province, the largest among the southern provinces of Thailand.  Chumphon, Ko Samui and Surat Thani are the nearest airports to Ko Tao. From any of the three airports, you can take a bus, cab or tuktuk to the ferry port where ferries to Ko Tao depart regularly. The ferry ride takes about two hours. You can also take the bus from Bangkok but it will take about 9 hours to reach the ferry port.

Ko Tao is such a delight for people who love water activities. You can travel around in a bicycle or motorbike, and stop whenever you want to, swim in one of its shimmering white beaches, enjoy the views, or simply explore the island. If you do not have any diving certificate but want to experience diving, Ko Tao’s numerous diving schools offer reasonably priced diving lessons and for a song, you can get a scuba diving license certificate.  Aside from water activities, you can also enjoy hiking, rock climbing, cliff jumping, massages, yoga classes, as well as Thai cooking courses!

Ko Tao is a great choice for intrepid travellers. Have fun in Ko Tao!
